Anambra Assembly Confirms Soludo’s Second Batch of Nominees

The Anambra State House of Assembly has officially confirmed the second batch of commissioner-nominees and agency heads submitted by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

This latest round of appointments follows the confirmation of the initial 18-member cabinet earlier in the week, as the administration moves to fill key positions in its executive council.

The newly confirmed officials include Arc. Henry Arinze, who will serve as the Commissioner for Housing, and Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu, designated as the Commissioner for Commerce. Additionally, the Assembly confirmed Dr. Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme as the Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA).

During the plenary session, the Speaker of the House, Somtochukwu Udeze, emphasized the high expectations placed on the new appointees.

He charged them to align strictly with the Solution Agenda of the Soludo administration, specifically focusing on transparency, accessibility, and the prudent management of state resources.

The Speaker noted that these appointments are critical for the completion of the state’s developmental framework, particularly in infrastructure and the expansion of social health services.

He urged the commissioners to avoid bureaucratic bottlenecks and ensure that their ministries remain responsive to the needs of the average citizen.

With this confirmation, Governor Soludo’s cabinet is largely fully formed, marking a transition from a transitional phase to a fully operational executive team. The newly confirmed nominees expressed their gratitude to both the Governor and the Assembly, pledging to contribute significantly to the state’s vision of becoming a livable and prosperous mega-city.
