Governor Hails Tinubu, FEC for Backing Transport Expansion
Governor Uba Sani has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council for approving infrastructure projects valued at over ₦1 trillion for Kaduna State.
The approved projects include a 50-kilometre light rail system and the reconstruction of the Mando–Kaduna–Birnin Gwari road, estimated at ₦178 billion. Sani described the initiatives as transformative, noting their potential to improve transportation, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen security.
He said the projects are aligned with the state’s broader transport plan, which also features a Bus Rapid Transit system and the introduction of compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, aimed at positioning Kaduna as a regional transport hub.
The governor added that the road project fulfils an earlier commitment by Tinubu to rehabilitate the Birnin Gwari corridor, highlighting its importance for connectivity, agriculture, and local stability.
Sani reaffirmed the state government’s readiness to ensure effective implementation, describing the projects as critical long-term investments in Kaduna’s development.
