Borno South APC Stakeholders Endorse Ndume, Raise ₦40m for Nomination Form
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from the nine local government areas of Borno South have endorsed Ali Ndume for re-election and raised over ₦40 million to purchase his senatorial nomination form ahead of the 2027 polls.
The group, led by party chieftain Adamu Yamta, presented their decision on Sunday during a visit to the Borno State APC Chairman, Bello Ayuba, in Maiduguri.
Addressing the gathering, Yamta said the endorsement reflected a consensus among party stakeholders across the district, citing Ndume’s track record as a key factor behind the move.
Ayuba, in his response, commended the unity demonstrated by party members and described the turnout as significant, noting that representatives from all local government areas and segments of the party structure were present.
He also praised Governor Babagana Zulum for fostering inclusive leadership within the state, adding that such an approach has strengthened party cohesion.
Other stakeholders, including Abdullahi Danjato and Musa Dogo, said the endorsement was unanimous and aimed at formally informing the party leadership while seeking its support.
The meeting was attended by zonal and local government party leaders, state executives, youth representatives and members of the business community, underscoring broad backing for the senator’s anticipated candidacy.
