Loan Apps are ‘Agents of the Devil’ – Pastor Paul Enenche Warns Nigerians
Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has cautioned Nigerians against patronising online loan applications, describing them as “agents of the devil” that bring unnecessary hardship and bondage to people.
The fiery preacher gave the warning during a recent sermon at the church’s headquarters in Abuja. He lamented that many Nigerians, out of desperation, have fallen victim to predatory lending practices by loan apps, only to end up with unbearable debt burdens and emotional trauma.
According to Pastor Enenche, the so-called quick-money solutions often lure unsuspecting people with promises of easy access to funds but end up enslaving them through outrageous interest rates, public shaming tactics, and endless repayment demands.
“Loan apps are not a blessing, they are a trap. They are agents of the devil sent to chain people financially, emotionally, and spiritually. When you borrow from them, you sign up for harassment, disgrace, and frustration,” he declared.
He further urged Nigerians to embrace financial discipline, contentment, and trust in God’s provision instead of relying on what he described as satanic schemes disguised as financial aid.
Pastor Enenche noted that the growing popularity of online loan services in Nigeria is a reflection of the harsh economic realities facing many citizens. However, he stressed that the solution lies in prudent management of resources, entrepreneurship, and divine guidance rather than falling into debt traps.
His message has sparked discussions among worshippers and Nigerians online, with many agreeing that loan apps have become notorious for exploitative practices, while others argue that they remain a necessary option for those with urgent financial needs.
