ECWA Urges Members to Obtain PVCs and Shape Nation’s Future in 2027

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has urged its members to actively participate in the 2027 electoral process, stressing the necessity of obtaining Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to help shape the nation’s future.

This call was issued in a communique at the conclusion of the church’s 73rd General Church Council (GCC) meeting in Jos, Plateau State.

Signed by the church’s president, Rev. Dr. Job Bagat, and secretary, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe, the communique encourages members with the capacity and calling to seek elective positions, arguing that the absence of “principled and value-driven individuals” in politics leads to poor governance. The church emphasized that its members should engage in the political process responsibly.

Furthermore, the Council called upon electoral authorities to conduct their duties with “the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and fairness” to boost public confidence. The church also advised its members to maintain peace and legality, stating, “the Council strongly advises all members to conduct themselves in a peaceful, lawful, and civil manner, avoiding all forms of violence, misconduct, or actions that could undermine the unity and stability of the nation.”

Finally, ECWA called on its congregation to remain prayerful and committed to contributing to national peace and sustainable development.
