President Tinubu Holds High-Level Consultations with APC Governors at Presidential Villa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently engaged in a high-level meeting with governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The gathering is taking place at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, signaling another significant round of political consultations by the administration.

The session was originally scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Council Chamber but commenced at approximately 5:00 p.m. after being relocated to the Conference Room of the President’s Office. This change in venue serves as the primary setting for the ongoing discussions between the President and the party’s state executives.

A number of key governors were present to participate in the meeting. Notable attendees include Prof. Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, Peter Mbah of Enugu State, and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State. In instances where the state governors could not attend personally, their respective deputy governors were present to represent them.

The meeting takes place on the heels of another critical engagement held on Wednesday evening, where President Tinubu met with the extended leadership of the Senate. During that closed-door session, the Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, indicated that “far-reaching decisions” were made regarding “matters of urgent national importance.”

Despite the high-profile nature of the gathering and the preceding Senate talks, the specific agenda or purpose of this meeting with the APC governors remains undisclosed at this time. Observers and the public are currently awaiting further details regarding the outcomes of these consultations as the administration continues its deliberations.
