Stop Demarketing Nigeria, Orji Uzor Kalu Warns Peter Obi

In a strongly worded statement, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has admonished former presidential candidate Peter Obi to cease “de-marketing” Nigeria in the name of opposition.

The senator’s comments come as a response to what he perceives as a trend of Nigerian leaders criticizing the country while abroad, which he believes is detrimental to the nation’s economic growth and investment opportunities.

In a video statement, Senator Kalu emphasized the importance of patriotism and unity in promoting Nigeria’s interests.

“The country is not owned by any individual, and as such, we must be patriotic enough not to discourage investors from coming to our country.

“We need investments that will give more people jobs and improve our economic situation. One of the things to achieve this is definitely not de-marketing Nigeria in the name of opposition,” he said.

Senator Kalu specifically mentioned that he finds it “difficult to see some of our leaders going around America, Europe, Canada, Australia, and China, demarcating our country” while the government is working to attract investments. “When we’re busy looking for investments to pull up the country, people are busy going to tell everybody that nothing is happening in Nigeria,” he lamented.

The senator acknowledged that the current administration’s policies are showing promise, but the benefits are not yet trickling down to the average citizen.

“The problem is that it’s not trickling down, and that’s what we’re after,” he said. “That’s why we need continuous investment without stopping. This is why we’re all over everywhere to bring investment back to Nigeria so that people can see work.”

Senator Kalu called on Nigerian leaders to put aside their differences and work together for the betterment of the country. “We are one family,” he said. “Tinubu is not the owner of this country. He’s just our president, which he will leave one day. Buhari is already in Daura, Kaduna.

Tinubu will one day, after eight years or so, leave office. So let us stop demarcating our country.”

The senator emphasized that the essence of opposition is to provide constructive criticism and suggest ways to improve the lives of Nigerians, rather than to malign the country. “If this is the way opposition will be, it means they have nothing to offer Nigeria,” he said.

Senator Kalu, who is known for his business acumen and investment expertise, reiterated his commitment to attracting investments to Nigeria and creating jobs for its citizens. “I’m not a frivolous man. I don’t live in politics. I don’t play politics. I bring new investments that Nigerian people can have jobs and people of our country will be committed to it,” he said.

In conclusion, Senator Kalu urged Nigerian leaders to change their hearts and work for the betterment of the country. “Can we please rise and work for more investment to the country? Continuous investment. China was once in this position we are today. Vietnam was once in this position. Who can overcome? And we will overcome,” he said.
