Ali Fage Takes Charge as 27th Katsina State Police Commissioner

Ali Umar Fage has officially assumed office as the 27th Commissioner of Police for Katsina State Command.

His assumption of duty follows his recent redeployment by the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, and made available to journalists in Katsina.

According to the statement, Fage originates from Fage Local Government Area in Kano State. He joined the Nigeria Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Bayero University, Kano.

With over 30 years of service, CP Fage brings extensive experience across various police operations, investigations and administrative roles. Over the years, he has held multiple positions, including Officer in Charge of Monitoring, Divisional Police Officer in several divisions across Sokoto, Kaduna, Jigawa, and Katsina states, as well as key roles within police commands and monitoring units.

His career also includes appointments such as 2IC Area Commander in Katsina, Deputy Commandant at the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos State, and other leadership roles within the Force.

Before his redeployment to Katsina as Commissioner of Police, he served as Deputy Commandant at the Police College in Ikeja.

The statement further noted that CP Fage has pledged to prioritise peace and security in Katsina State. He also emphasised the need for collaboration with relevant stakeholders to tackle crime using innovative and effective policing strategies.

His appointment is expected to strengthen ongoing efforts to maintain law and order across the state.
