I’m Ready to Meet Tinubu for National Progress, Offers Sule Lamido

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

Former Governor Sule Lamido has expressed readiness to meet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the sake of national development and unity.

Speaking during Sallah, he clarified that his openness to dialogue is driven by the country’s best interests rather than partisan politics, stating, “I will be more than willing. So when are we going to see him?”

The PDP chieftain dismissed rumors that he rejected an invitation to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). He maintained that no such offer was ever made by the President or his representatives, asking rhetorically, “When was I invited? Let me know, please. Did he send you to me? I’m hearing this from you for the first time.”

Lamido also addressed viral reports linking him to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), labeling them as fabrications by social media content creators. He warned against believing everything online, noting, “In this era of social media and content creation, anything is possible. People sit in their rooms and create stories. I have not seen such pictures.”

Reflecting on Nigeria’s current state, the former governor noted that the nation’s leadership is a direct result of the electorate’s choices. He urged citizens to reflect on their decisions, stating, “When we were campaigning, we urged Nigerians to vote right, with integrity and conscience. People voted, and whatever you put in is what you get out.”

During his Eid al-Fitr message, Lamido described Ramadan as a vital period for spiritual growth and repentance. Expressing his gratitude for the holy month, he shared, “We thank Allah Almighty for sparing our lives to witness Ramadan. It was a period of repentance, prayers and supplications,” while calling for continued national unity.

The veteran politician concluded by praying for enduring peace and prosperity across the country. He emphasized that the current challenges facing Nigeria require leaders to act with sincerity and prioritize the welfare of the people above all else to ensure a stable future for all citizens.

Finally, Lamido encouraged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their prayers for the nation’s stability. He stressed that fostering national cohesion and addressing systemic challenges are essential steps toward progress, urging all stakeholders to work together for the collective good of the Nigerian state.
