Two Applicants Caught with Forged Certificates During Police Recruitment Screening

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two constable candidates at the Police Training School, Bauchi for allegedly presenting forged certificates.

The development was disclosed on Friday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, who said the screening exercise was led by A.Y. Dickson.

A total of 403 candidates were screened, consisting of 354 applicants for general duty and 49 for specialist positions. During the exercise, two candidates were discovered to have submitted fake results from the National Examinations Council. Both suspects shared the same name, Yusuf Usman, and were reportedly moving together throughout the screening before the forgery was detected.

Habib added that the suspects were handed over to the Divisional Police Officer of ‘E’ Division for further investigation. He also cautioned all applicants against engaging in fraudulent acts during recruitment exercises.

The screening forms part of the ongoing nationwide recruitment of 50,000 police constables, which commenced earlier this week.
