Tinubu Re-engineering Nigeria for Tomorrow’s Prosperity, Says Obanikoro

By Rachel Akper

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Musiliu Obanikoro, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration is re-engineering Nigeria for long-term prosperity through bold reforms and strategic governance.

Obanikoro, a former minister and senator, made the remarks while assessing the direction of the current administration. He said President Tinubu’s policies are designed to reposition the country’s economy, strengthen institutions and lay a solid foundation for sustainable growth.

According to him, although some of the reforms may appear difficult in the short term, they are necessary steps toward building a more resilient and competitive economy.

“The President is taking bold decisions that will secure Nigeria’s future. These reforms are not just for today but for tomorrow’s prosperity,” Obanikoro stated.

He pointed to ongoing economic restructuring, fiscal adjustments and investment-driven policies as evidence that the government is focused on long-term national development. Obanikoro expressed confidence that the administration’s approach would ultimately yield tangible benefits for Nigerians.

The APC chieftain also urged citizens to remain patient and supportive, noting that transformative reforms often require time before their full impact becomes visible.

President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, has embarked on a series of economic and structural reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, attracting investment and improving public sector efficiency.

While supporters of the administration argue that the measures are setting Nigeria on the path of recovery and growth, critics maintain that the immediate impact of some policies has placed pressure on households and businesses.

Nevertheless, Obanikoro insisted that the reform agenda represents a strategic repositioning of the country and expressed optimism that Nigeria would emerge stronger in the coming years.
