N-HYPPADEC has distributed 50 power tiller machines to Kogi State farmers.
The initiative aims to replace manual labor with mechanized farming to significantly increase local food productivity.
Managing Director Abubakar Yelwa noted the move supports the federal government’s food security agenda. The commission views modern tools as vital for reducing poverty and driving national development.
Kogi’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Timothy Ojomah, described the equipment as a major sector boost. This distribution is the fourth agricultural empowerment program held in the state this year.
In addition to machinery, the state has provided 30,000 bags of fertilizer and other essential inputs. Authorities urged farmers to deploy the tillers effectively to maximize their seasonal harvests.
The program is designed to ensure year-round yields and create new jobs for local youths. N-HYPPADEC will monitor the equipment’s use to ensure long-term sustainability and agricultural growth.
Highlighting the urgency of the project, Yelwa stated, “A hungry man is an angry man. That is why N-HYPPADEC is giving every agricultural policy the attention it deserves.”
