2025 UTME: JAMB Sanctions 4 CBT Centers, Arrests 27 Impersonators

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the arrest of 27 impersonators and the delisting of four Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres amid ongoing efforts to uphold the integrity of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The board’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made this known in a press statement on Friday, stating that the delisted centres were removed due to technical infractions and failure to comply with JAMB’s operational standards.

The affected centres include:

Adventure Associate, Kano
Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Kano
Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd. Centre 1, Sokoto
Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd. Centre 2, Sokoto
“These centres were found to be involved in activities that contravened our guidelines or demonstrated technical incompetence, and have therefore been delisted from participating in the ongoing examination,” Benjamin stated.

He added that candidates previously scheduled to take their exams at the affected centres have been reassigned to new locations and are required to reprint their examination slips immediately to confirm the changes. He warned that failure to comply may result in candidates missing their exams without excuses being entertained.

In addition to these measures, JAMB confirmed that 27 individuals have been apprehended for attempting to impersonate registered candidates. These suspects have been handed over to law enforcement agencies and are expected to face prosecution.

Dr. Benjamin reaffirmed JAMB’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the examination process, stating that the board will not hesitate to sanction any individual or institution found undermining the credibility of the UTME.

Meanwhile, the board addressed a recent incident at the Caleb University CBT centre, where candidates wearing hijabs were reportedly harassed. JAMB has taken disciplinary action against the involved personnel, while the university management has also condemned the conduct and promised to ensure it does not recur.

So far, over 900,000 of the 2,083,600 registered candidates have successfully taken the 2025 UTME, with the board pledging to sustain its surveillance and enforcement efforts throughout the exam period.
