The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of petrol to N774 per litre.
This significant price cut is intended to provide immediate relief to Nigerians facing high living costs.
The new pricing aims to lower retail costs at filling stations across the country. By increasing local supply, the refinery hopes to stabilize the downstream sector and encourage market competition.
Regarding the price drop, the refinery management stated, “This price reduction is in line with our commitment to provide affordable and quality petroleum products to Nigerians, while also supporting the Federal Government’s efforts to stabilize the economy.”
Transport and manufacturing sectors have welcomed the news, expecting a drop in production and travel costs.
Experts believe the reduction will eventually lower the prices of essential goods and services.
Local refining at the Lekki facility continues to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on expensive fuel imports. This shift helps the nation save foreign exchange while ensuring a more reliable energy supply.
The refinery has assured the public of a steady product supply to prevent any scarcity. More Nigerians are expected to benefit from this lower rate as distribution expands nationwide.
