Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Abu Dhabi Trip
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after participating in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in the United Arab Emirates, where Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with the UAE to strengthen bilateral relations.
The agreement is designed to deepen economic cooperation between both countries, boost trade and investment, promote technology transfer and expand collaboration in key sectors including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining and renewable energy.
On the sidelines of the summit, President Tinubu announced that a joint Nigeria-UAE INVESTOPIA will be held in Lagos in February.
The initiative is expected to attract global investors and support Nigeria’s economic growth agenda.
The President also told participants at the summit that Nigeria aims to mobilise up to 30 billion dollars annually in climate and green industrial financing.
He said the funds will support the country’s energy transition reforms and efforts to expand electricity access nationwide.
The details were contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
