‘Life More Important Than Boxing’ — Jake Paul Sends Condolences to Anthony Joshua After Car Crash

American boxer and internet personality, Jake Paul has sent a message of sympathy to British-Nigerian heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua following the fatal car crash in Nigeria that claimed two lives and left Joshua with minor injuries.

Paul, who faced Joshua in a recent high-profile bout, reacted to the news in an emotional social media post, stating that “life is more important than boxing” and expressing his condolences to the families of the deceased, as well as his prayers for Joshua and others affected by the incident.

The crash occurred along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, when the vehicle conveying Joshua and other occupants was involved in a collision with a stationary truck.

Two passengers were confirmed dead at the scene, while Joshua was reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was later taken for medical attention.

In his message, Paul said moments like this serve as a reminder that sporting rivalries are secondary to human life and wellbeing. He noted that competition inside the ring should never overshadow compassion and respect outside it, especially in times of tragedy.

The gesture has drawn positive reactions from fans and observers in the global boxing community, many of whom praised Paul for setting aside rivalry to show solidarity and empathy.

Supporters also wished Joshua a speedy recovery while extending prayers to the families of the victims.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are still ongoing, while Joshua is reported to be stable and recuperating.
