Lady Fubara Advises Rivers Children on Good Conduct at Christmas Celebration

The wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara, has encouraged children across the state to grow up with good manners, respect for others and a strong sense of responsibility.

She gave the advice during a special Christmas party she hosted for children at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The event was organised as part of activities to celebrate the Yuletide season and bring joy to children in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Government House Press Unit and made available to journalists on Friday, Lady Fubara said the gathering was meant to show care and love to children and make them feel valued during the festive period.

She also urged them to pray for the peace and progress of Rivers State as the year draws to a close.

In her words, she said:
“I pray that as you come to celebrate this 2025 children’s party, God will keep us in good health and usher us into 2026, and we will gather in love and unity to celebrate again another Christmas party.

“But I have advice for you, the beautiful children of Rivers State, to continue to pray for your State, Rivers State. I want you children to be good children, be respectful, obedient to your parents, assist your parents and play with your gadgets with caution.

“I pray we shall gather again and celebrate more parties.”

The governor’s wife also reminded the children to remain focused on their studies and other positive activities, stressing the importance of discipline and obedience.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Nma Odu; the Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi Brown; the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh; Permanent Secretaries, and other top government officials.

A major highlight of the celebration was the cutting of a special cake by Lady Fubara, followed by the distribution of various gift items to the children, adding colour and excitement to the occasion.
