A New Chapter for Diaspora Progressives: APC UK Chairman Hon. Tunde Doherty Welcomes National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to Paris, France

In a remarkable show of unity and commitment to strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the diaspora, Hon. Tunde Doherty, Chairman of the APC UK Chapter and also the Chairman of the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen joined APC France chapter Chair Hajiya Amina Musa Suzuki this evening to welcome HE Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of APC, to Paris, France.
Dr. Ganduje’s visit marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the party’s global outlook as he arrives to attend the Progressives Conference and officially inaugurate the newly elected executives of the APC France Chapter.
Hon. Doherty, speaking on behalf of the wider diaspora chapters, praised the peaceful transition and inclusive process that led to the emergence of the new leadership in France. He commended the dedication of APC members in France who have demonstrated a clear commitment to mobilizing Nigerians in the diaspora and promoting progressive ideals in their communities.
“This is more than a celebration of new leadership—it is a reaffirmation of our shared vision,” said Hon. Doherty. “As diaspora progressives, we play a strategic role in promoting Nigeria’s image abroad, attracting investment, and shaping policy. Our unity and coordination are critical as we position ourselves for meaningful contributions to the Renewed Hope agenda.”
The Progressives Conference and Inauguration Ceremony will take place tomorrow, 19th April 2025, and Hajiya Amina Suzuki, the incoming Chair said she expects the event to draw APC members and supporters from across Europe. All Progressives in Paris and surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and show their support as the France Chapter embarks on a new era.
As APC continues to expand its global network, this gathering underscores the party’s commitment to inclusive leadership and the invaluable role of Nigerians in the diaspora.
