Nasarawa Governor Appoints Former Governor Doma’s Son as Assistant on Investment
In a move aimed at bolstering the state’s economic agenda, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa has approved the appointment of Muhammad Doma as Special Assistant on Investment.
The younger Doma, son of former Governor Aliyu Doma, brings a fresh perspective to the administration’s push for rapid industrialization and job creation.
The announcement, made by Secretary to the State Government Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji on Monday, underscores the governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and strategic recruitment.
In his remarks, Governor Sule emphasized the need to leverage youthful energy and professional expertise to accelerate the implementation of the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS).
“We are confident that Muhammad’s experience in business development and public‑private partnerships will drive new investment opportunities and create employment for our people,” the governor said.
Muhammad Doma, a graduate of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, has previously worked with several private‑sector firms, including a stint as a project manager for a renewable‑energy startup in Abuja.
His familiarity with both the public and private sectors is expected to bridge gaps between government policies and market realities.
The appointment follows a recent wave of senior‑level changes in the state, including the swearing‑in of 14 commissioners and 18 special advisers.
Analysts view the move as part of a broader strategy to consolidate the administration’s second‑term agenda, which focuses on agriculture, infrastructure, and technology-driven growth.
Aliyu Doma, who served as governor from 2007 to 2011, remains a prominent figure in Nasarawa politics.
His son’s entry into the current administration signals a blend of legacy influence and fresh ideas, a dynamic that could resonate well with voters seeking continuity and innovation.
