Robbery at Hatlab Place in Wuse Zone 5 Leaves Staff Devastated
A shocking robbery incident has occurred at Hatlab Place, located on Sokode Crescent in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, leaving workers in deep distress.
The incident, which reportedly happened between late Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday, saw burglars cart away several
valuable item fors, including high-end electronics and media equipment.
According to reports, the crime was first discovered early Monday morning when a cleaner arrived to carry out her usual duties. “When I entered the office to clean, everywhere was scattered,” she said, describing the scene of disarray that greeted her.
Staff members who arrived shortly afterward were stunned to find that the office had been completely looted.
Items stolen from the premises include multiple laptops an Apple MacBook, HP 15.6” FHD Touch laptops, two Dell laptops, and an OZCT Pro Max tablet as well as a Sony FX30 professional camera, a 50mm Sony lens, and a Rode Reporter microphone.
Following the discovery, some staff reportedly moved around the building to check if other offices were affected, but no other section appeared to have been touched.
This detail has raised serious suspicion among workers, who believe the attack may have been a deliberate, targeted operation.
“What makes the whole thing even more suspicious is that the burglars only went to the last floor, to the last office on the left,” one employee explained. “They didn’t touch any other office. It feels like a planned job.”
Another staff member, Miss Favour Momodu, described the incident as both painful and worrisome.
“This ,kind of thing shouldn’t be happening in a secured office environment,” she said. “It’s a sign that insecurity isn’t just from outside forces but can also come from within.”
Security officials have since been alerted, and investigations are currently underway to determine how the criminals gained entry despite the building’s security measures.
