PDP Governors Vow to Enforce Discipline Ahead of National Convention

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have pledged to enforce discipline within the party, warning that they will no longer tolerate arrogance, impunity, or divisive actions that could undermine its unity.

Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, gave the assurance on Tuesday during the inauguration of the National Convention Planning Committee in Abuja.

Mohammed stressed that the party’s governors were determined to protect the PDP from internal sabotage as it prepares for its National Elective Convention, scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“We are not cowards, and we are not afraid of anybody,” Mohammed declared.
“We are capable of steering this party beyond shenanigans, arrogance, and impunity. Enough is enough. We will no longer allow anyone to take us for granted. Discipline is the keyword, and we will enforce it.”

The statement was seen as a direct response to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his allies, who have openly opposed the forthcoming convention.

On Monday, Wike’s camp, after a meeting in Abuja, outlined six conditions that must be met for the convention to hold peacefully.

But Mohammed maintained that the governors would not be distracted, insisting that the convention will proceed as scheduled.

“Our duty as governors is to ensure the party is not led to the slaughterhouse. We are working with the convention committee to guarantee success, and we are ready to defend the party’s integrity,” he said.
