SAHCO Plans Overseas Push After N44.46bn Revenue in 2025
Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc has announced plans to expand its operations into the United Arab Emirates and other African countries as part of a strategy to become a regional aviation ground-handling and logistics services provider.
The company said the planned expansion would widen its international reach, reduce reliance on the Nigerian market and create additional revenue channels in the aviation and logistics sector.
Chairman of SAHCO, Dr Taiwo Afolabi, disclosed the plan at the company’s 16th Annual General Meeting, where he said the firm intended to build on its domestic operations and pursue opportunities in strategic markets across Africa and the Middle East.
Afolabi said the company’s international growth plan was designed to improve its competitiveness beyond Nigeria while opening new earning opportunities.
He said SAHCO would rely on its experience in Nigeria’s aviation sector, its nationwide operational structure and continued investment in equipment and personnel to support its entry into foreign markets.
The chairman said the company remained committed to service quality, customer satisfaction and expansion despite operating challenges in the aviation industry.
He said the company’s performance in the 2025 financial year reflected the strength of its business model and the contribution of its workforce to sustaining growth.
SAHCO reported revenue of N44.46 billion for the year ended December 31, 2025, representing a 53.6 per cent increase from the N28.94 billion recorded in 2024.
Profit before tax rose to N12.01 billion from N6.49 billion in the preceding year, while profit after tax stood at N9.74 billion.
Earnings per share increased to N7.20, compared with N3.57 in 2024, as the company’s improved earnings strengthened returns to shareholders.
The company also recorded growth in its financial position, with shareholders’ equity rising to N62.21 billion and total assets increasing to N82.69 billion, supported by investments in property, plant and equipment as well as improved liquidity.
SAHCO said the improved financial results would provide additional capacity for its proposed expansion while it continues to invest in operational infrastructure and service delivery.
The company currently provides ground handling, aircraft handling, cargo warehousing, aviation security and passenger facilitation services to airlines operating within and outside Nigeria.
SAHCO is also the only aviation ground-handling company with operations at all commercial airports in Nigeria, a network management said gives it a strong base for its planned move into international markets.
The company has invested in modern ground-support equipment, staff training and infrastructure to manage increasing passenger and cargo traffic while maintaining service standards for airline clients.
However, the company’s proposed expansion into the UAE and other African markets will require it to secure regulatory approvals, establish partnerships and compete with established aviation service providers in the target markets.
