Jarvis Defends Relationship with Peller, Rejects Abuse Allegations After Viral Video
Social media influencer, Jarvis, has broken her silence following the recent controversy surrounding her relationship with fellow content creator, Peller.
The backlash began after a video surfaced online showing Peller pushing her during an argument, sparking widespread debate and allegations of abuse across Nigerian social media platforms.
In a reaction video released to her followers, Jarvis firmly rejected claims that she is a victim of domestic abuse. She explained that although she considered the incident wrong, it was not reflective of an abusive relationship.
“If he was beating me, I would have left,” Jarvis said. “That pushing was not it actually. It’s a no-no, but I believe he will change.”
She stressed that she is mature enough to make her own choices and would not remain in any relationship that endangered her wellbeing. Jarvis further urged Nigerians to stop pushing an abuse narrative about her private life, insisting that her relationship with Peller is based on love and mutual understanding.
The young influencer also acknowledged that the viral incident exposed imperfections in their relationship but maintained that both she and Peller are learning and working on themselves.
She admitted that the pushing was unacceptable but insisted that it should not define their bond.
“I know what abuse is, and this is not it. People need to stop creating stories that are not true. I love him, and that is why I am here,” she added.
Peller, who faced heavy criticism after the video circulated, has since issued a public apology, admitting that his actions were wrong and pledging to improve. Despite his apology, online reactions have remained divided, with some Nigerians expressing concern for Jarvis’s safety, while others argued that the incident was being exaggerated and taken out of context.
The controversy has reignited conversations about boundaries in relationships, public scrutiny of influencers, and the potential dangers of normalising aggressive behaviour. Many commentators have urged Jarvis to prioritise her safety, while others have called for more cautious judgment, noting that viral clips often fail to show the full story.
Jarvis also dismissed speculation that she is staying with Peller for fame or financial reasons, clarifying that both of them are still building their careers. According to her, her decision to remain is based purely on personal choice and affection.
As the online debate continues, Jarvis has asked Nigerians to respect her decision and allow her the space to handle her relationship privately.
