Tinubu’s Policies Inspiring Nigerian Youths to Believe in the Future,.Says Magu

Former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for implementing policies that he said are restoring young Nigerians’ faith in the country’s future.

Magu made the remarks at the National Industrial Manpower Summit 2025, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking during the summit’s Gala Night, the former anti-graft chief said Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has demonstrated a strong commitment to youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and institutional reforms, which he described as “critical to building a resilient future for the nation.

“Through your Renewed Hope Agenda, you are giving the next generation a reason to believe again — and tonight, we say thank you,” Magu declared.

Magu highlighted how Nigerian youths were already seizing opportunities and proving their resilience across different sectors.

He cited examples of young innovators building technology startups in Yaba, establishing farms in Nasarawa, running thriving fashion businesses in Aba, and creating mobile applications in Kaduna.

“Our youths are not weak. They are not lazy. They are not waiting to be rescued. They are ready to lead,” he said, stressing that the energy and creativity of young Nigerians must be harnessed for national progress.

While commending Tinubu’s administration for galvanising the youth, Magu cautioned that corruption remains a major stumbling block to manpower development and sustainable growth.

“When young people must pay bribes to secure jobs, when contractors abandon training projects, when funds meant for empowerment end up in private accounts — then the bridge between potential and productivity begins to crack,” he warned.

He urged Nigerian youths to resist the lure of corruption and embrace integrity, insisting that true leadership begins with character. According to him, collective effort is required to safeguard systems that guarantee equal opportunities, including transparent recruitment processes, proper utilization of education funds, protection for whistleblowers, and recognition for individuals who demonstrate integrity in service.

Magu stressed that Nigeria’s progress rests on both government action and the active participation of the youth population.

He said Tinubu’s reforms, coupled with the determination and innovation of young people, could spark a new era of transformation for the country.

“You are the bridge. You are the ones who will take Nigeria forward — if you refuse to cut corners and if you choose integrity over impunity,” he told the youths.

In conclusion, Magu reaffirmed his confidence in Nigeria’s potential and the role of its youth in shaping a stronger nation.

“I believe in Nigeria. I believe in her youth. I believe the future is not far — it is here, it is now, and it is ours to shape,” he said.
