“Criticism of Mbappé Very Unfair,” Says Dembélé in Passionate Defence
Ousmane Dembélé has launched a passionate defence of Kylian Mbappé, describing the recent wave of criticism aimed at his Paris Saint-Germain and France teammate as “very unfair.”
Speaking after PSG’s latest Ligue 1 fixture, the winger pushed back against pundits and fans who have scrutinised Mbappé’s recent performances. Dembélé argued that the forward is being held to an impossible standard that no other player in the world faces.
“People forget what he has done for this team and for French football,” Dembélé said. “Every small mistake is magnified, while his incredible moments are treated as normal. That is not normal at all.”
The 26-year-old emphasised that Mbappé continues to deliver decisive goals and assists despite constant defensive attention from opponents. Dembélé pointed out that even when Mbappé is not at his absolute peak, his presence alone changes how teams defend against PSG.
“I see the work he puts in every day in training. He is professional, humble, and wants to win more than anyone,” Dembélé added. “The criticism is very unfair because he has carried this team for years. One or two quieter games and suddenly everything is questioned.”
Dembélé also suggested that off‑pitch speculation about Mbappé’s future has fuelled the negative narrative. He called on supporters to show more patience and recognise the forward’s long‑term contribution rather than focusing on short‑term dips in form.
“He is still the best player in the world for me,” Dembélé concluded. “We should enjoy him while he is here, not destroy him over nothing.” The comments are expected to intensify debate among fans, but Dembélé made it clear he will always defend his teammate against what he sees as unjust treatment.
