Delta APC Chairman Dismisses Rumours of Division Within

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ika North-East Local Government Area, Delta State, Ekene Kerry, has dismissed suggestions that the party in the state is facing internal divisions, insisting that the APC remains united and focused ahead of future political activities.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s political programme, Politics Today, Kerry addressed growing speculation of a rift within the state chapter, which has been fuelled by recent reports of disagreements among some members.
He maintained that such claims were exaggerated and did not reflect the reality on the ground.
“I would say I don’t think there’s a division in the party (APC),” Kerry said, stressing that while minor disagreements may occur in any political organisation, they have not escalated into a full-blown crisis capable of destabilising the party’s structure.
His comments follow reports of discontent among certain stakeholders in Ika North-East, with some alleging poor handling of party affairs and calling for more inclusive decision-making. Although such tensions have sparked public discussion, Kerry insisted that the party’s leadership is working together to strengthen unity and resolve any lingering misunderstandings.
The APC in Delta State has been positioning itself for greater electoral success in upcoming polls, with party leaders across the state engaging in grassroots mobilisation and reconciliation efforts.
Kerry emphasised that maintaining internal cohesion is key to the APC’s ability to challenge the ruling party in the state and deliver on its political promises to constituents.
By downplaying the rift allegations, the chairman sought to reassure members and supporters that the party remains stable, committed, and prepared to pursue its political objectives with a united front.
