Broja Joins Burnley in Bid to Secure Premier League Survival

Burnley have continued their Premier League rebuild with the signing of striker Armando Broja from Chelsea on a five-year deal, the club confirmed on Friday.
Though the fee remains officially undisclosed, British media report that Burnley will pay an initial £10 million ($13.4 million) to Chelsea, with a possible £5 million ($6.7 million) in add-ons.
Broja, 23, arrives as part of Burnley’s effort to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign, following their return to the top flight.
The Albanian international joins a wave of summer recruits, including Bashir Humphreys and Lesley Ugochukwu, as the Clarets look to avoid a repeat of last season’s relegation battle.
The move ends Broja’s long-standing journey with Chelsea, which began in 2009 when he joined from Tottenham at just eight years old. He rose through the academy ranks and featured 38 times for the senior team, scoring nine goals.
However, his career has largely involved loan spells at Southampton, Fulham, and most recently Everton who chose not to make the deal permanent.
With Chelsea investing heavily in forwards Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, Broja opted for a fresh start.
“I am really excited to be here as a Burnley player. It’s a really positive time to be joining this club ahead of the start of the new Premier League season. I can’t wait to get going,” Broja said.
“I’m feeling good, I’m ready and I’m excited about the challenge of playing for this club. I can tell you all that I will be giving my all every time I pull on the famous claret shirt.”
Burnley will be counting on Broja’s Premier League experience and hunger for regular football to spark their return campaign.
