Sanwo-Olu Congratulates LASU Alumna Maryam Lawal for Outstanding Performance at Nigerian Law School

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Maryam Lawal, a distinguished alumna of Lagos State University (LASU), for her exceptional performance at the recent Call to Bar ceremony of the Nigerian Law School held in Abuja. Lawal, a graduate of LASU’s Faculty of Law (Common and Islamic Law), emerged as the Best Graduating Female Student and the Second Overall Best Graduating Student among a total of 7,134 students who were called to the Bar on July 10. In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who is also the Visitor to Lagos State University, said the State is immensely proud of Lawal’s academic feat, describing it as a testament to LASU’s excellence in producing world-class graduates. Lawal, a native of Lagos, was also awarded eight prestigious prizes at the ceremony, including the Best Student in Corporate Law Practice. Governor Sanwo-Olu commended her brilliance, hard work, and commitment, calling her “a shining ambassador for LASU and Lagos State on the national stage.” “Maryam Lawal’s extraordinary accomplishment has once again reaffirmed LASU’s reputation for academic excellence and its capacity to produce highly skilled professionals in various fields,” the Governor stated. He further urged students across the state to emulate Lawal’s dedication and strive for academic distinction, adding that her success underscores the impact of quality education and determination. The Governor concluded his message by wishing Lawal continued success in her legal career, assuring that the Lagos State Government will continue to support excellence and reward merit.
