Breaking News-Omokri Insists Corps Member Criticising President is Wrong

Former aide to President Good luck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has weighed in on the scathing video posted by Ushie Rota Uguamaye, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) insisting that as one under the federal.government ought not have spoken out against the president or the government. Omokri also took a swipe on the corps Member for describing Lagos as dirty and smelly, pointing out that one on National service is akin to a soldier or para-military personnel who ought not raise her voice against the government she is part of. Uguamaye who is said to hail from Enugu State was counseled by Omokri to desist and be more circumspect about criticising government and her place.of.abode. Although the corps member got justifications from Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the last election, Peter Obi and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as being courageous and a signifier of new change and phase in politics, Omokri viewed it differently and challenged the duo to show their support for the corpse member in a more tangible manner. " If Obi really thinks Raye’s action is a strong moral lesson, he should employ her in one of his companies. In doing so, he would be able to reflect and promote those same values in his businesses and among his staff", Omokri said. This exchange has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians. While some Nigerians support Omokri’s view on maintaining the NYSC discipline, others agree with Obi and Atiku’s position on Raye’s right to expression. While Obi has voiced some thoughts against Omokri, he hasn’t replied to him directly.
