Minister of Youth, Ayodele Olawande, Clarifies Intellectual Property Clause

The Minister of Youth, Ayodele Olawande, has shed light on the intellectual property clause in the Youth Confab 2025 guidelines, clarifying that its purpose is to enable public use and implementation of submitted proposals.

The minister emphasized that contributors will retain moral authorship and be recognized for their work.

According to Olawande, the Copyright Act 2022 permits public use of submitted materials with implicit consent. To address concerns, the clause has been revised to grant the Planning Committee permission to review, disseminate, adapt, and integrate content while balancing collective wisdom with individual rights.

The minister expressed gratitude to concerned citizens and youth voices for their feedback, highlighting the importance of vigilance in strengthening democracy and governance.

With the revised clause, the Youth Confab 2025 is poised to be a more inclusive and transparent platform for shaping policies and recommendations that benefit Nigerian youths.
