Reno Omokri Dismisses Peter Obi’s 2023 Election Victory Claims on Podcast

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has refuted claims that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential election. Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast alongside media personality Daddy Freeze, Omokri challenged what he described as a widespread but unfounded belief among Obi’s supporters.

During the discussion, Omokri addressed the strong conviction held by members of the “Obedient” movement supporters of Peter Obi who continue to insist that their candidate was the true winner of the election.

“Even people in this room believe that Peter Obi won the election,” one of the hosts noted, setting the stage for Omokri’s pointed response.

Omokri dismissed such beliefs as “intellectual laziness,” stating bluntly: “If you believe that Peter Obi won the election, you are intellectually lazy.”

He argued that Obi himself never claimed outright victory in the official petition he filed at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).

“Go and read his petition,” Omokri urged listeners. “It’s a public document. He did not argue that he won. What he said was that Bola Tinubu was not validly nominated due to a past conviction in the United States and that his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, had issues of double nomination. What Peter Obi called for was another election, not a declaration that he won.”

Omokri further questioned the logic of holding on to a victory claim when even the candidate in question did not make such an assertion.

“Peter Obi has not said he won. So how are you, sitting here, saying that he did?”

The comments have sparked renewed debate among political observers and Obi’s supporters online, reigniting controversy surrounding the 2023 election and its aftermath.
