Escalating Violence,.Deaths Across Country Grave National Crisis

Former presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi has sounded the alarm over the escalating violence and bloodshed across Nigeria, describing the situation as a grave national crisis.

In a statement on Saturday, Obi lamented the frequency of attacks and killings, which have tragically become a common occurrence in the country.

Obi highlighted several incidents, including a bomb explosion in Kano that claimed five lives, the killing of 12 wedding guests in Plateau State, and a bandit attack in Kebbi that left 30 people dead.

He also noted the attack in Borno by a female suicide bomber that killed 24 citizens and the killing of a police inspector in Katsina by bandits.

According to Obi, insecurity has spread to areas once considered safe, and the government must prioritize the issue as a top national concern.

He condemned the lack of empathy shown by leaders towards grieving citizens and called on the government to take responsibility for protecting lives.

Obi warned that persistent insecurity and corruption are damaging Nigeria’s global reputation, emphasizing that immediate and decisive action is necessary to tackle the issue.

He urged all stakeholders to work together to address the crisis and ensure the safety of Nigerian citizens.

The former presidential candidate’s statement underscores the urgent need for effective measures to address the security challenges facing the country and protect the lives of its citizens.
