Ondo Goes Tough on Kidnapping, to Impose Death Penalty for Offence

Ondo State Government has announced a stern measure to combat kidnapping, declaring that convicted kidnappers will face the death penalty by hanging.

 

Attorney General Kayode Ajulo stated that the state House of Assembly will review the anti-kidnapping law to prescribe this punishment.

 

Additionally, buildings and facilities used by kidnappers will be demolished, following due legal process.

 

The government is also tackling cultism, with plans to strengthen legal frameworks to deter such crimes.

 

Ajulo emphasized the importance of adhering to the rule of law, ensuring that justice is served fairly and transparently.

 

This approach aims to reassure investors of their safety and security in the state.

 

In other developments, the state government has approved several infrastructure projects.

 

These include the installation of 6,000 solar-powered street lights across the three senatorial districts and the construction of dual carriageways in various parts of the state.

 

The government has also approved the selection process for the Olu of Okeigbo, highlighting its commitment to community leadership and governance.

 

The Ondo State Government’s initiatives demonstrate its commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for residents and investors.

 

By strengthening laws and infrastructure, the government aims to promote economic growth and development in the state.
