The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Delta State has opened registration for its supplementary Post-UTME screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The supplementary exercise is aimed at eligible candidates who missed the university’s earlier screening conducted from July 21 to 25, 2026, as well as applicants who wish to change their institution of choice to FUPRE.

The university’s Registrar, Dr E. Jane Omoyine, announced the development in a statement made available to journalists in Warri on Monday.

Registration will close on Sunday, August 23, while the supplementary screening is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 24, and Tuesday, August 25.

Candidates are required to register through the university’s admission portal and pay a screening fee of N2,000.

To qualify, applicants must have obtained at least 160 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Applicants must also have chosen FUPRE as their first-choice institution or successfully completed the Change of Institution process to FUPRE.

Other requirements include a minimum of five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

The university said accepted O’Level qualifications include SSCE, NECO, GCE and NABTEB. Candidates must also be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026.

FUPRE clarified that candidates who took part in the initial Post-UTME screening exercise in July are not required to participate in the supplementary exercise.

The institution advised eligible candidates to complete their registration before the deadline and regularly monitor its admission portal for updates concerning the screening.

FUPRE was established in 2007 to develop specialised manpower for Nigeria’s petroleum industry and related sectors. The institution has since expanded its academic focus to include science, engineering, technology, computing, maritime studies, petroleum administration and management.

The university currently offers 32 undergraduate programmes across five colleges and describes itself as Africa’s first specialised petroleum university and the sixth of its kind globally.
