Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested four suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) collaborators while intercepting 20 fleeing family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) terrorists during intelligence-led operations in Borno and Yobe States.

The targeted sweeps were conducted on August 3, 2026, across designated operational sectors to systematically dismantle supply chains and deny insurgent groups access to vital materials in the North-East theater.

In Geidam, Yobe State, troops of the 159 Battalion under Sector 2 executed a strategic cordon-and-search raid based on actionable intelligence, apprehending two suspects actively providing logistical support and illicit substances to Boko Haram fighters.

During the search operation, military personnel recovered extensive contraband, including large quantities of Indian hemp, Pregabalin capsules, Piscof syrup, mobile phones, power banks, knives, scissors, torchlights, lighters, cigarette rolls, identity documents, ATM cards, and cash.

The intercepted group of 20 JAS family members—consisting of nine women, two men, eight female minors, and one male minor—disclosed during initial profiling that they fled their settlement in Gezuwa following sustained military offensives, after which security forces transferred them to the 21 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation.
