APC Chieftain Advocates Sustained Security Reforms Following Foreign Commendation
All Progressives Congress chieftain, Femi Sanni has stated that US President, Donald Trump’s praise for Nigeria’s anti-terrorism efforts reflects international recognition of President Bola Tinubu’s strategy, but insisted that deeper security reforms remain urgently needed.
He emphasized that foreign commendations must translate into concrete, structural improvements on the ground to eradicate insurgency and violent crime nationwide.
Sanni renewed calls for constitutional amendments to establish state police, arguing that subnational policing is vital for effective community defense. He stressed that long-term security depends on upgrading intelligence systems, strengthening regional institutions, and deepening operational collaboration across federal, state, and international partners.
