TGM to Host Leadership Roundtable Ahead of Talent Management Academy Launch
That Good Media (TGM) has announced plans to hold its first Talent Management Leadership Roundtable as part of preparations for the launch of TGM Academy, an institution focused on training and developing talent managers in Nigeria.
The event, themed “Talent Management as Critical Infrastructure for Cultural Exchange and the Creative Economy,” is scheduled for July 28, 2026, at Abora Suites, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. It will convene talent managers, creatives, entertainment executives, brand representatives, diplomats, media professionals, production companies, streaming platforms, cultural organisations and other key stakeholders to discuss the future of talent management within the creative sector.
According to the organisers, the roundtable is designed to encourage in-depth conversations on how professional talent management can drive commercial success, strengthen partnerships between creatives and brands, and expand opportunities for international cultural exchange.
Discussions will also focus on the skills, ethical standards and industry structures required for Nigerian talent managers to compete effectively in the global creative economy, while exploring the expectations of corporate organisations and international institutions seeking collaborations with the creative industry.
TGM said insights from the engagement will shape the curriculum and strategic direction of TGM Academy, which is expected to commence operations in September 2026.
The gathering will also mark the launch of the TGM Academy Scholarship Fund, an initiative aimed at providing financial support to aspiring talent managers. The fund is expected to attract contributions from corporate organisations, development agencies, diplomatic missions, foundations and industry leaders to widen access to professional training.
In addition, TGM will introduce Megowa, a digital platform designed to connect creatives, talent managers, brands, cultural institutions and international partners through a professional networking ecosystem.
The roundtable is being organised in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Megowa, and the French Consulate, led by Marc Fonbaustier.
Founder of TGM, Toyosi Etim-Effiong, said the academy was created to bridge the shortage of structured education and professional standards in talent management despite the rapid growth of Nigeria’s creative industry.
She said the institution would prepare a new generation of talent managers with the expertise needed to support creatives, build sustainable careers and position Nigeria more strongly within the global creative economy.
Etim-Effiong added that Megowa would complement the academy by providing graduates and industry professionals with access to international opportunities, strategic partnerships and cross-border collaborations, further strengthening Nigeria’s cultural influence on the global stage.
