Nnamdi Azikiwe University Dismisses Claims Linking Institution to Viral Sex Scandal Video
The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, has strongly denied online reports alleging that one of its lecturers was caught in a compromising situation with a student on campus.
The controversy stems from a viral video circulating on social media which shows a group of students forcing their way into an office. In the recording, the voiceover claims that a lecturer was caught in an inappropriate act with a female undergraduate and managed to escape the scene by jumping out of the office window.
The narrator in the video specifically identified the incident as taking place at the university, pointing to the fleeing man as a staff member of the school.
In an official reaction, the university’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Aloysius Attah, declared the reports to be completely false and misleading. He stated that the institution conducted a thorough investigation and established that the individuals captured in the footage are neither lecturers nor students of the university.
Furthermore, the school confirmed that the physical office and location shown in the clip do not exist on any of the university’s campuses.
The university spokesperson emphasized that the institution maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any form of student exploitation and sexual harassment. He assured the public that the school holds its academic staff to high ethical standards and urged social media users to disregard the video, describing it as a baseless attempt to tarnish the reputation of the university.
