Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has shared how he once ran a successful business selling akara and bread. He said the venture generated no less than ₦10 million for him every month.

Eno explained that he started the business by opening a shop where customers could buy bread filled with akara, which he described as a bread and akara burger. He noted that the shop is still operating today.

According to the governor, workers heading to their jobs in the morning formed a major part of his customer base. Many of them worked at ExxonMobil and would stop by to buy the food before starting their day.

He also set up a coffee shop alongside the akara and bread business. Customers would often buy the food together with coffee, creating a steady morning routine for many of them.

Eno said the combination of the akara, bread and coffee sales became a significant source of income. He emphasised that the business consistently brought in at least ₦10 million every month during that period.
