933 Corps Members End Service in Anambra as 9 Repeat

Nine hundred and thirty-three members of the National Youth Service Corps Batch B Stream I have successfully completed their mandatory one-year service in Anambra State.

The passing out parade took place across all 21 local government areas of the state. The State Coordinator of the NYSC, Pauline Ojisua, congratulated the outgoing corps members and encouraged them to use the skills they learned to start their own businesses instead of waiting for office jobs.

Nine corps members who absconded from service will have to repeat the full year according to NYSC rules. Two others had their service extended due to disciplinary issues, while five were kept by their employers because of their outstanding performance.

The coordinator advised the young graduates to stay productive and join the NYSC Foundation to keep their connection with the scheme.

The ceremony gave the outgoing corps members a chance to reflect on their experiences and the contributions they made to the state during their service year. Many participated in community development projects, teaching, and other activities that helped local communities.

The skills acquisition programmes offered by the NYSC equipped them with practical knowledge for self-reliance.

Pauline Ojisua urged the corps members to embrace entrepreneurship and create sustainable livelihoods. She noted that the service year had prepared them for the next phase of their lives and encouraged them to contribute positively to national development.

The event was a proud moment for both the corps members and their families.

As the 933 corps members receive their certificates and move on to the next chapter, their service in Anambra State is remembered as a period of growth and service to the nation. The NYSC continues to play a vital role in fostering unity and skill development among Nigerian youth.

The repeat and extension cases serve as a reminder of the importance of discipline and commitment during the service year.
