Witness Tells Court Nnamdi Kanu Ordered Tinubu, Wike Killed

A key witness in the ongoing trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has revealed shocking details of the defendant’s alleged incitement of violence against top government officials.
The testimony, given at thebFederal High Court, Abuja implicated Kanu in a series of broadcasts that called for the harm and killing of prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
According to the witness, Kanu’s statements, recorded and played in court, demonstrated a clear intent to provoke violence and unrest. In one instance, he allegedly offered a substantial reward for the capture or killing of Wike, whom he accused of offering a bounty on the head of a Biafran individual.
The witness testified that Kanu’s words were laced with venom, as he described Wike as undeserving of life and worthy of death.
The court also heard recordings of Kanu’s directives to his followers during the End SARS protests, in which he allegedly instructed them to wreak havoc in Lagos and target Tinubu, branding him a traitor and an evil person who deserved to be punished.
The recordings further revealed Kanu’s alleged calls for the destruction of Tinubu’s property and the harm of law enforcement personnel.
The prosecution presented seven recorded broadcasts as evidence, which were admitted into the record and played in open court. The witness’s testimony and the recordings themselves appear to suggest a pattern of behavior by Kanu that is alarming and incendiary, with potentially grave consequences for national security and stability.
As the trial continues, the revelations are likely to have significant implications for Kanu’s defense and the broader conversation around freedom of speech and incitement to violence.
The court’s consideration of this evidence will be closely watched, as it navigates the complex and sensitive issues at play in this high-profile case.
