Ebonyi PDP Governorship Candidate Praises Ooni for Bridging Ethnic Divides

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Ebonyi State, Sunday Ogbu, has commended the Ooni of Ife for his ongoing efforts to strengthen unity between the Yoruba and Igbo people.

He described the traditional ruler’s work as a shining example of leadership that goes beyond tribal lines to foster peace and cooperation across different parts of Nigeria. This praise highlights the important role traditional institutions can play in national harmony.

Sunday Ogbu noted that promoting understanding between major ethnic groups helps reduce tensions and opens doors for joint development projects. He believes initiatives like this can encourage politicians and ordinary citizens alike to focus on what unites Nigerians rather than differences that have caused friction in the past. Many people in the southeast have welcomed such messages of solidarity at a time when unity is needed more than ever.

The Ooni of Ife has earned respect for his consistent advocacy for peaceful coexistence and cultural exchange between communities. His actions have inspired conversations about how traditional leaders can support modern governance by addressing historical divides. Supporters see this as a positive step toward building a stronger, more inclusive nation where every region feels valued and respected.

In his remarks, Sunday Ogbu called on other leaders to emulate the Ooni’s approach and work actively toward national integration. He stressed that true progress in Nigeria depends on mutual respect and collaboration among all ethnic groups. This kind of unity, he added, will create better opportunities for economic growth and social stability in places like Ebonyi State and beyond.

As political activities heat up ahead of future elections, statements like these remind everyone of the bigger picture beyond party lines. Sunday Ogbu’s appreciation for the Ooni’s peace efforts reflects a growing desire among Nigerians for leaders who prioritize harmony. With continued advocacy from influential figures, the dream of stronger Yoruba-Igbo relations could bring lasting benefits to the entire country.
