Lagos, Ogun Police Commands Rescue 5, Arrest 88 Suspects in Massive Forest Raids

The Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands have launched Operation Kosaye a major joint security initiative designed to aggressively flush out violent criminals from border communities and shared forest corridors.

The name of the operation, derived from a Yoruba expression meaning “there is no hiding place for criminals,” has already yielded significant operational milestones.

Security operatives successfully rescued five kidnapped victims, neutralized four suspected kidnappers during fierce gun duels, and arrested 88 criminal suspects across both states. Several illegal shanties, criminal hideouts, and camps used as operational bases by the syndicates were also completely dismantled during the raids.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, alongside his Lagos State counterpart, Fatai Tijani, formally unveiled the operation at the Police Training School in Iperu-Remo. The police chiefs explained that the tactical initiative was ordered by the Inspector-General of Police and is heavily supported by the governments of both Lagos and Ogun states, which have provided the necessary tracking tech and logistics.

The ongoing operation aims to permanently rid the border axes of cross-border bandits, armed robbers, and kidnappers while restoring absolute public confidence in regional security.
