Akpabio Sees Me as the Devil, Says Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio views him as an adversary and would prefer to have him excluded from the Senate due to their differing views on national issues.

Speaking during a recent interview, Oshiomhole said Akpabio perceives him as "the devil he knows," claiming that the Senate President has become uncomfortable with his outspoken positions on matters affecting the country and the National Assembly.

The former Edo State governor stated that if Akpabio had his way, he would have him "locked out" of the Senate. According to Oshiomhole, the Senate President's perception of him stems from his willingness to challenge decisions and raise concerns over issues he believes are in the public interest.

Oshiomhole maintained that his disagreements with Akpabio were not driven by personal ambition or any desire to undermine the Senate leadership. Rather, he said his interventions were motivated by a commitment to accountability and transparency in governance.

The senator also dismissed suggestions that he was isolated within the upper chamber, insisting that many lawmakers privately shared similar concerns but were reluctant to voice them publicly.

The remarks come amid growing public attention on the relationship between the two senior lawmakers following recent disagreements on legislative matters and governance issues.

Their exchanges have fueled discussions about internal dynamics within the Senate and the direction of its leadership. Despite the tensions, Oshiomhole reiterated his commitment to serving his constituents and contributing to national development through constructive engagement and legislative oversight.

Political observers say the latest comments reflect underlying divisions within the Senate, even as lawmakers continue to work on key national issues requiring legislative action.
