Ogun Tops List of States With Lowest Road Quality in Nigeria, Says Report

A new nationwide assessment of road infrastructure has ranked Ogun State as the state with the lowest road quality in Nigeria, according to the 2025 Residents’ Assessment of Road Quality released in the pSPI report.

The survey, which evaluated public perception of road conditions across the country, placed Kogi State in 36th position and Imo State in 35th, making them the second and third worst-rated states respectively.

Other states ranked among the lowest include Taraba State (34th), Ondo State (33rd), Edo State (32nd) and Anambra State (31st).

Further down the list are Delta State (30th), Bayelsa State (29th), Kwara State (28th), Kaduna State (27th), Ekiti State (26th), completing the list of states with the poorest perceived road conditions.

The report, credited to Statistense and based on residents’ feedback, highlights ongoing concerns about infrastructure decay and maintenance challenges across several regions of the country.

It also underscores widening public dissatisfaction with road networks, which remain critical to transportation, commerce, and daily mobility nationwide.
