Ogun Poly Expels 365 Students Over Fake Results, Forged Transcripts

A polytechnic in Ogun State has expelled 365 students for presenting fake results and forged transcripts. The mass expulsion was announced by the school management after a thorough investigation.

The affected students were found guilty of using fraudulent documents to gain admission or graduate from the institution.

According to the polytechnic’s authorities, the fake documents included falsified O-Level results and counterfeit transcripts from other schools. Some of the students had already spent years in the program before they were caught.

The management said the investigation took several months and involved cross-checking records with examination bodies and other institutions.

The school’s rector stated that academic fraud will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He warned that the polytechnic has zero tolerance for cheating and forgery. The expelled students have been asked to return any school property in their possession. Their names have also been forwarded to relevant examination boards for further sanctions.

Many of the expelled students reportedly broke down in tears when the decision was announced. Some claimed they were innocent and that they bought the documents from third parties who promised they were authentic. However, the school management said ignorance is no excuse.

They advised future applicants to always follow proper channels and avoid shortcuts.

The mass expulsion has sent a strong message to other students across the country. School authorities in Ogun State have promised to continue monitoring for academic fraud. Parents and education stakeholders have largely supported the decision, saying it protects the value of genuine degrees. For the 365 students, their academic journey at the polytechnic has come to an abrupt and shameful end.
