Frank Edoho Dismisses Abuse, Infidelity Claims as Divorce Battle Goes Legal

Veteran broadcaster and television host, Frank Edoho has flatly denied allegations of domestic violence, infidelity, and financial irresponsibility levelled against him by his estranged wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, announcing that the dispute has been taken out of the court of public opinion and placed before legal authorities.

In a statement published on his official Instagram page, Edoho addressed what he described as grave allegations that had been circulated in the public space over several days. “Over the past few days, a number of grave allegations concerning my person have been circulated in the public space. I am fully aware of the concern, commentary, and attention this has generated,” he wrote. “Let me state, clearly and unequivocally, that the allegations made against me are false.” He declined to make further public comments, noting that ongoing legal and investigative processes before the relevant authorities meant it would be inappropriate to engage in a public back-and-forth, adding that restraint in such moments was not weakness but wisdom.

The controversy had been building since May 10, when a gossip blogger shared claims alleging that Sandra had been romantically involved with Nigerian singer Chike following the collapse of the marriage. The story gathered steam after Frank himself reacted in the comment section of one of the viral posts, a move many interpreted as an indirect acknowledgement of the situation.

Leaked audio recordings purporting to feature conversations between Sandra and Chike were subsequently circulated online, though neither party confirmed the authenticity of the recordings. By May 14, Sandra had gone on the offensive, publishing a lengthy multi-part social media series titled “Surviving Frank Edoho,” in which she accused the former Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host of chronic infidelity, emotional abuse, physical violence, and financial exploitation across the course of their marriage.

The posts, accompanied by screenshots and photographs as purported evidence, drew widespread attention and dramatically shifted public sentiment.

The fallout also drew in third parties. Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tega Dominic and business executive Amaka Okeke, both named by Sandra as women with whom Frank had allegedly had affairs, firmly denied any romantic involvement with the broadcaster and threatened legal action over what they described as false and baseless allegations. In his statement, Edoho expressed regret that individuals with no connection to the dispute had been pulled into public discourse, offering an apology to those whose names and reputations had been affected, including friends, sponsors, and business partners.

The couple, who married in a traditional ceremony in 2013 before holding a white wedding in 2017, welcomed two children during their union. Edoho confirmed earlier in the year that the couple had been separated for two years and were in the process of divorcing.

Closing his statement with an appeal for his children to be shielded from the fallout, he wrote: “Above all, I am a father, deeply committed to the welfare, dignity, and protection of my children.” He asked for privacy for his family and indicated he would make no further public comment on the matter.
