Nigerian singer, Mr Eazi and his wife, actress and fashion influencer, Temi Otedola, are expecting their first child together, the couple announced on Thursday, sending waves of excitement across social media barely a year after their glamorous three-country wedding.

The couple made the announcement in a joint Instagram post, sharing images from a white-themed maternity shoot. In the caption, Temi quoted a Bible verse to express her excitement, writing: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” The images, which quickly went viral, showed a glowing Temi cradling her baby bump in what fans have described as a deeply personal and spiritual reveal.

The announcement comes barely a month after Temi shared photos from their court wedding anniversary celebration, marking one year as “Mrs A.” The pregnancy news is therefore the latest milestone in what has been a whirlwind chapter for the high-profile couple, who have become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated romances since they began dating in 2017.

Their wedding was a series of three events held between May and August 2025 in Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland respectively, with estimates for the wedding’s cost ranging from $10 million to $15 million.Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, who is a close family friend, had at the time promised to host a massive party to celebrate the couple’s firstborn, suggesting cities such as London, Miami, and Greenland as possible venues. With Thursday’s announcement, that promise may soon be put to the test.

Temi is the daughter of Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola and sister of DJ Cuppy. Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Ajibade, is one of Nigeria’s most internationally recognised musicians. The couple, who got engaged in Venice in 2022, have built a shared public life that spans podcasting, fashion, and music, and their journey into parenthood is already being celebrated by millions of fans across the continent.
