APC Directs Central Collation of National Assembly Primary Results in Abuja
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed that the collation and announcement of results from its National Assembly primary elections be centrally coordinated, with official briefings to be conducted only in Abuja after the submission of results.
In a memo dated May 17, 2026, and addressed to all chairmen of the National Assembly Primary Election Committees, the party outlined procedures for the handling of results arising from the primaries.
The circular, signed by the APC National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, stated that established procedures already exist for the collation and announcement of results from the exercise.
According to the document, the procedures include ward collation, Local Government Area collation, designated constituency collation centres, and the submission of results and reports to the party’s national headquarters.
The party further instructed that no committee should conduct media briefings within their respective states of assignment.
“Any official briefing, where necessary, shall be conducted exclusively in Abuja after the submission of all results,” the memo stated.
The directive was also copied to APC state chairmen across the country.
The development comes amid ongoing APC National Assembly primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
