Kaka Campaign Council Rejects APC Kaduna North Primary, Alleges Irregularities
The Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka Campaign Council has rejected in its entirety the purported House of Representatives primary election conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kaduna North Federal Constituency on 16 May, 2026, describing the exercise as irregular and undemocratic.
In a press statement signed by Hon. Garba Adamu, Chairman of the campaign council, the group alleged that no valid primary election took place across the 12 wards as scheduled, claiming that neither party officials nor electoral materials were present at the supposed venues.
According to the statement, supporters and party members who were fully prepared for the exercise were left stranded, only to witness what it described as a “shocking” announcement of results by a group allegedly aligned with an aspirant.
“Our team and supporters (APC card-carrying members) were fully prepared and physically present at the supposed venue of the exercise across the 12 wards, only to discover that no officials, electoral materials, or arrangements for the conduct of the primaries were available,” the statement read.
It further alleged that “a group aligned with an aspirant emerged under questionable circumstances and announced comic results,” describing the process as a “hijack of democratic process” and an abuse of internal party democracy.
The campaign council called on the leadership of the APC to urgently investigate the circumstances surrounding the exercise, warning that failure to act could undermine public confidence in the party and the democratic process.
“We therefore call on the leadership of the APC to urgently investigate and address this injustice before it damages public confidence in the party and democracy itself,” it stated.
The group also urged its supporters to remain calm and resolute, insisting it would pursue what it described as its “democratic right” to ensure due process is upheld.
“We urge all our supporters and party loyalists to be resolute and be assured that we will tirelessly work hard to claim our democratic right to ensure that rule of law prevails,” the statement added.
The statement was signed off with the slogan “Kowa Namu Ne ✌🏽♾️” and issued by Hon. Garba Adamu on behalf of the Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka Campaign Council.
